I listened to the audio version first, and kept learning new concepts about how to be kind to ME that I wanted to read, ponder and journal。Then my book arrived and I began on page 1 with a highlighter in hand。 This time I’m spending a full day on each chapter and thoroughly digesting these simple words that I’ve never accepted in my life。

Chapters 8 - 14 were phenomenal。 I felt like the first few chapters were a little repetitive。 Reading this with a biblical wordview, I was able to take any of the self-love and instead remind myself of who I am in Christ。 I did find so many things very helpful。

I love Mel Robbins, she has a lot of amazing insight and a way of making you feel seen, heard and supported。 I love that The High 5 Habit is backed by science。 My only downvote is the fact that she spoke of a psychic as if they are real。 They are scammers。 In a book that is supposed to be all about facts and truth and science, why put that in there? A little surprised。 Otherwise, I think this book holds a lot of worth and can be really helpful!

Another great book by Mel Robbins ✨Basically tells you to have a high 5 attitude towards yourself in order to help you achieve your goals among other things。 Helps you reflect on self encouragement。 An entertaining read as well as a lot of good advice I will return to。

At times simple & sweet, at others neurotic and anxiety-provoking。 The author is at her best when directing other people (there is a particularly effective example of her speaking to an Uber driver who wants to move to Hollywood and forcing himself to set a deadline of three weeks) and at her worst when talking about own life experience, which I found uncomfortably highly-strung, self-obsessed, and stress-inducing - unfortunately, this made up 90% of the book。

I love the simplicity of this book。 Wake up。 Make your bed。 Ignore your phone。 Go outside。 Set an intention。 Brush your teeth。 Give yourself a high 5 in the mirror。 Tell yourself how fabulous and fearless your are。 Then go kick some major ass throughout the rest of your day and accomplish more of what you want out of life。
